The traditional Loket circuit was tricky as ever and the 24MX Honda team experienced in what could only be described as a mixed weekend. Ken De Ddcker picked up six points.

On a hot and sticky first day of the Czech Grand Prix, de Dycker qualified 22nd after a bad start.

Conditions on the old school track had changed considerably on Sunday. Overnight rain added a moist dirt layer to the slippery surface for the opening MXGP moto. The tigh lefthand corner didn’t favour ‘Keeno’ and the former MXoN winner got off to a slow start. From dead last the Belgian veteran grinded his way up to place 19th.

Although the course had dried out for the second moto the nature of the Loket track stil placed the start and passing at a premium, especially in the stacked MXGP field. Slightly too gung-ho de Dycker hit the gate and messed up his start. True to form the experienced 24MX Honda rider made excellent progress in early traffic. Ken circulated 15th until mid-race, finally to cross the line 17th.

The 24MX Honda rider will compete at the Championship of Flanders International in Gooik ahead of his home Grand Prix in Lommel on August 6th.

Ken de Dycker: “Not exactly a great weekend but admittedly Loket has always been a very difficult track for me! Not only is the start super important here it’s also one of these places where you’re struggling to make up time as everyone seems to be running at a similar speed! Such was the case this time as well. My pace was good enough to catch the slower guys but with a bad start you’e never going to catch the faster riders if you’re not considerably quicker. It’s frustrating but honestly I never had a great feeling. That’s how it is, I’m really looking forward to the two races at home now. First the Championship of Flanders and then the GP in Lommel!”
